ResMed Releases SleepTrack Program

Mini Mitter, which recently relocated to Bend, Ore, in order to meet production demands, received a patent for its Actiwatch®-Score, a device to replace patient diaries for clinical trials.

The instrument combines standard activity monitoring with a mechanism for the patient to input subjective levels of sleepiness, mood, pain levels, and fatigue. Monitoring activity levels, or actigraphy, helps sleep professionals document and diagnose insomnia and other sleep disorders.

Pro-Tech Names New President
Pro-Tech Services, Woodinville, Wash, named Jim Johnson as the company’s president. Johnson, who was with PACCAR, Bellevue, Wash, for 22 years, will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company.

imageRespironics to Break Ground for New Facility
Respironics, Pittsburgh, plans to build a corporate services facility in Murrysville, Pa, in the spring of 2001. The facility will be adjacent to the company’s home care division headquarters at Murry Ridge Corporate Center.

The two-story, 55,000-sq-ft building will house the corporate services group that supports the company’s four divisions: home care, hospital, asthma and allergy, and international. Corporate services include human resources, information technology, administration, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, marketing communications, finance and accounting, legal, and reimbursement services.
