Better Rest Solutions, creator of the SoClean CPAP Cleaner and Sanitizer and the SoClean 2 Go CPAP Sanitizer for Travel, is making a donation to the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) in recognition of Drowsy Driving Prevention Week, an annual public awareness campaign sponsored by the NSF. For every SoClean and SoClean 2 Go sold in the month of November, Better Rest Solutions will donate $5 per sale to the NSF. Additionally, the company will donate $1 for every 10 individuals (up to $2,500) who pledge to take a stand against drowsy driving.

Drowsy Driving Prevention Week runs from November 2 to 9, with the goal of educating young drivers (and everyone on the road) about the dangers of driving while sleepy. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drowsy driving causes 100,000+ crashes per year, resulting in approximately 40,000 injuries and 1,550 deaths.

“Drowsy Driving Prevention Week is such an important campaign for sleep apnea patients to be aware of,” says Mike Schmidt, president of Better Rest Solutions, in a release. “We’re glad to take this opportunity to raise awareness of the dangers of excessive daytime sleepiness and contribute to the National Sleep Foundation as a way of showing our support for all they do.”

Better Rest Solutions also recently published a white paper on the effect  of sleep apnea on commercial truck drivers just in time for Drowsy Driving Prevention Week.
