ResMed revealed its newest full face CPAP mask, AirFit F30, which adds to its AirFit mask portfolio, which is designed to help users reduce facial marks, wear glasses in bed, and curl up closer to their bed partner, according to the company.
AirFit F30’s sits below the nasal bridge, preventing top-of-the-nose red marks and irritation. ResMed states that this also means it can reduce feelings of claustrophobia for some full face wearers.
AirFit F30 also features ResMed’s latest QuietAir vent, so it’s quieter than ambient noise in the bedroom. It features magnetic clips to make the mask easier to put on and take off as well as a one-size-fits-all headgear.
In a ResMed Clinical Study of 21 Australian patients comparing ResMed AirFit F30 and Phillips Respironics Amara View conducted April-May 2018, 80% of users said AirFit F30 was easier to use. In a ResMed Fitting Study of 75 US patients comparing ResMed AirFit F30 and Phillips Respironics Amara View conducted April-May 2018, 66% of users said AirFit F30 had a more stable fit and better seal. With regard to noise, AirFit F30 is 21 dBA.
With just two cushion sizes and one headgear, AirFit F30 fit 93% of users in a 75-patient ResMed study.
“AirFit F30 is a win-win for sleep apnea patients and HMEs, and the perfect addition to ResMed’s portfolio of CPAP masks,” says Jim Hollingshead, president of ResMed’s Sleep business, in a release. “It provides an easier, quieter and more stable fit for full face wearers, while HMEs can enjoy faster setups and easier inventory management with a mask designed to fit the first time, every time.”
AirFit F30 will be available later this year in select countries.
Can we obtain samples for our sleep labs?
We have 2 labs, each with 2 beds.
Is it possible to obtain 4 of these masks to introduce to our CPAP patients?
Thank you,
Laura
I have been having an awful time with cpap masks. Would you kindly tell me when I can purchase the Airfit F30. Holding off purchasing another mask until I hear from you.
Thanks very much!
If you think the F30 looks good, I’d recommend the Philips Respironics Dreamwear full face mask. It comes with the same type of cushion, but the air tube connects at the top of head keeping the front of the mask clear for side and stomach sleeping. This also prevents the air from blowing right into your teeth. Your CPAP supplier probably has these masks in stock right now.
Eleanor, I too have used ever mask out there and just ordered the f30. Looks like there are a couple size options available for different bridge sizes. I hope it works
I used the dreamwear one. It seemed bulky and awkward to me didn’t make it 2 nights
We would also like to obtain 2 masks for our sleep study lab to try with patients undergoing Apnea problems.
thanks,
Don
Does this mask have an adapter for the AirMini? Can I use the adapter for the F20?
I use a resmed f20 a medium sizzle If I purchase a new F30 would I still use a medium size
Is the Resmed F20 medium the same in the f30
I have a pacemaker. Upper left chest placement. Will the magnets on either f20 or f30 affect the pacemaker operation. I was told by provider and physician not to take the chance but I expect you to have more definitive response. I really liked the f20 memory foam mask
ResMed F30 is an inferior copy of the Philips Respironics Dreamwear full. The Dreamwear full keeps the tubing out of the front of the mask allowing for much easier side and stomach sleeping. It also delivers the air through the sides. This prevents the air from blowing on your teeth and many people do not even need humidification with the Dreamwear. Sorry, ResMed strikes out again.
How long did you use it? You did use it, right?
I did not have success with the Dreamwear full face mask. I did like the design with the hose on top of my head, but the medium frame was too big & kept sliding and with heated tubing, it was too heavy & kept lifting my mask off my face. I am a side sleeper & move a lot. I tried the small frame for the dreamwear & it was too small. so now I am going to try my first F30 mask & see how it goes. Phillips needs to create a Dreamwear line for women. I need a frame larger than a small but smaller than a medium. If phillips ever decides to bring out a dreamwear line for women, I will try dreamwear again. For now I hope the Airfit F30 will work for me.
I used the Dreamwear for a month and had leakage problems, I am a side sleeper and have trouble with most full facemasks.
The F30 gives me better seals around the edges of the mask. It also has a slight edge that wraps under your nose that aligns the mask well. The F30 is the best mask I have ever used. Less leaking events as recorded on my CPAP and less dry mouth than all of the competitor’s full face mask that I have used. I have been using the mask for over three weeks it is very comfortable.
F 30 looks interesting but website does not show any way to download the sizing card.
My husband and I both use dreamwear mask. He can’t keep his from not moving. New sleep study recommended F30 , by resmed.
He is looking forward to it.
I like dreamwear mask. They need to work on head gear though. If I don’t add a small ponytail, my mask slides all over, but it works for me, as long as I use a ponytail!Go figure, lol
After using the Phillips Respironics Amara for two weeks, I had to do something different. The overall concept of that mask was great but the extreme airflow from it was the big negative for me. I traded it for the newly hot off on the market Resmed Airfit F30. I have three observations after only two nights of use. First, the cushion when taken off to clean was extremely difficult to reconnect back to the face mast even with the vent elbow removed. Thought I had it connected but it came off several times the first night and shorten my use of CPAP therapy. After finally getting it properly connected the next day, I then had a better fit to my face and a restful sleep. The two positives are: the QuietAir vent technology beats the Phillips Amara hand down. Now I can sleep without pillows creating the necessary barrier between me and my wife of 37 years. Second, the Airfit F30 is an easier and gentler fit under the nose than the Phillips Amara. Quieter, less being blown away by extreme air flow and a more comfortable fit to the nose… just my imput.
I’m trying the airfield f30 the medium is a little small for my face. I’m going to try it but was wondering if will able to get a large soon. Please let me know thanks
I have now had my F30 for 1 whole week. I LOVE it! I use a small cushion & it does not leak as long as I have the straps adjusted correctly, but that is true for ALL masks. I can get this adjusted to fit unlike the dreamwear. I loved the dreamwear for the hose on the head, still not liking hose nose, but the F30 is so comfortable, it’s a keeper. I will keep this forever unless resmed comes out with a style with the hose coming out of the head or phillips creates a new frame size that is between a small & medium.
I have f30 also. I measured small but I’m having trouble with sealing. Does that mean I need med? Help
I just purchased a resmed f30 full face mask. Size small. The problem I’m having is I’m a side sleeper and it keeps blocking the airway on one nostril depending on which side i lay on. What can I do. Otherwise I like it .
With my F30 I find it easier to have down feather pillows, scrunch them so your mask vent hangs in front of the pillows. Don’t let your mask press into the pillows as that can re-align the breathing openings when you are sleeping. In five years I’ve had a number of masks: the F30 is my fave.
I have the f 30 c pap mask its very comfortable too sleep with it on
I love the F30 full face mask but having a lot of trouble with the head gear. I have a really small head and it doesn’t work too good for me. Resmed please make headgear for woman which would be smaller. I have gone through many designs of full face masks with problems and when I tried this it was great except for the headgear and this one size fits all mask doesn’t fit my head. It’s too big no matter how I put it on and I haven’t been using it. Went back to Phillips Respironics full face dreamwear. . Resmed please make a version for woman.
I purchased the F30 mask and I am disappointed. This mask should come in a large. The holes for the nostrils seem too small and when I tighten the upper straps, I feel like my nose is being pushed back to the bridge of my nose. What a waste of money! Going back to my Airtouch F20.!
I have the f 30 and get a lot of moisture in the mask what causes this
I’m not a professional, but am an experienced CPAP user. Two things come to mind with that moisture in the mask.
The first is from the humidifier. If you have to use a humidifier, try lowering the setting for it. Anotger option is you can try linking two of the hoses together, allowing one to basically go down toward the floor before it goes up to your bed. By having it go down before coming up, it makes it more difficult for excess moisture to get through the length of the hose. Think of it like a handheld showerhead, the way the hose goes down then up reduces the pressure (albeit minimally), but if you extend it straight it has slightly more…..the same way works here. (It is what I personally do, and rarely have that moisture anymore.)
The second reason can be the mask being too tight, causing excess drooling, causing it to pool from the pressure both from the mask combined with the pressure from the cpap itself.
I have not used my bipap machine for four years because the masks were so uncomfortable and the pressure was set at 25. I could not get a solid night’s sleep and after a year, I just gave up on it. Got a new lung doctor to reduce the pressure and bought a F30 mask. First time I have gotten a full night’s sleep with the bipap unit. The F30 is the best mask I have ever had after trying at least 5 different models and brands. Took a while to get the adjustments right, but since no leaks,no face marks, etc. To sum it up, i am very pleased with the F30.
I love my F30, after switching to a softer pillow. The problem I have is irritation right under my nose where the septum hits the upper lip. This morning it was even bleeding a bit. My allergies may be contributing to the problem, by providing moisture. Any suggestions? I am only leaking less than 15 l/min so I have some air to spare. Thanks.
I used this in a medium. The air would leak out all night and constantly wake me up, as well as my wife.
I switched to the small and found it to better initially but after a few days, it leaked as the night went on as the air ramped up. Making it tight as possible helped a little but it was uncomfortable. One night, it woke me up several times. I couldn’t stop the leaking!. I went back to my nasal mask and called for a fitting for another full mask.
I do have some leak problems . I have also had this problem with a competitor”s medium. I think it would be beneficial if Res Med offered a large. When I Switched to a large from a competitor leakage was eliminated. Some people have facial structure that requires a larger fitting mask. The F-30 is a much better mask than the competition. Wish it came in a large.
I’m upset with you all I’ve been having so much problems with any of your full face mask. So when I heard that you have the new AIrfit F30 I was happy. Since I’ve had nose surgery many years ago, I needed something to stay off the bridge of my nose . I was disappointed when I called and told your not going to make it in large . That upset me since I was in the percent of people’s that need a large and you all are not going to make a large. Than I’m told find another brand that might suit me. As a Veteran it sounds like you are not working to meet my need why?
I recently got and am using the new F30. I liked the shift from the Mirage Quattro, which
I had trouble getting on and especially getting off with the plastic snap ins. Also I wear glasses and having to take them off made it difficult to see what I was doing. I really like the F30, but wonder why they did not do a L size. If my nose is cushioned nicely, the bottom is riding on my lower lip, which the Quattro never did. Not sure why they have only two sizes. I would have liked to compare the difference between my M size and a L. My Quattro is large size. Also, was funny, as Quattro has many pieces to it, while new F30 has only 4. Very user friendly for cleaining.
I hoped this was the answer to my problems. Alas, it is not. When I finally got it adjusted to my face (and nose), it worked OK, but when I moved in my sleep or turned over, it broke the seal, and I had huge amounts of air blowing up into my eyes. I had to wake up, try to adjust the mask, was unable to do so, then couldn’t get back to sleep. Took the damn thing off and slept well with nothing the rest of the night. I will go back to my nasal pillows and chin strap.
Does ResMed ever give replies to questions asked & suggestions offered? I am only able to deal with my local ResMed people at the Pharmacy in my country town who do not have all the answers. Have tried to make contact with ResMed but no reply – it seems they are a Secret Service!!
I have a f30 mask for my cpap and the headgear is just too big I have a small head and I have it ajusted all I can and still meed more room for ajustment why don’t you make one for small heads and children if needed.
My problem is the headgear is too small the upper straps are almost in my eyes and I can’t get it away from my eyes the headgear just doesn’t fit I have a normal head .I wonder if other people are going through this I ordered in tomorrow view I’m desperate to get something that doesn’t have straps in my eyes and when I put it on at night it’s just a tangled mess no matter how well I do it and I follow directions I walked all the videos I
Hey I really like the looks of this one. I have been using your full face and it is causing flaking and drying of my forehead. So how about send ing me one too. I don’t have a sleep lab except my bedroom but I wou;d sure like one. I would use it every night.
