The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) has made a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to stimulate phase 1 translation of fundamental genome-based circadian biology to improve the understanding of heart, lung, and blood disease pathogenesis in non-neural tissues. The NHLBI is calling for applications for this funding opportunity.

The NHLBI will fund four to six applications by committing approximately $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2009.

Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary.

Applications submitted in response to the FOA must be submitted electronically using the SF424 Research and Related Forms and the SF424 (R&R) Application Guide.
