The deadline to submit session proposals for the Virtual SLEEP 2020 meeting, specific to clinical efforts and findings related to COVID-19 and sleep, is Monday, June 8, according to the Associated Professional Sleep Societies (APSS).

Up to four sleep and COVID-19 related sessions will be considered for inclusion in the Virtual SLEEP meeting in a one hour and 45 minute time slot.

Submissions must be emailed to [email protected] and must include a 500-word statement explaining the background, purpose, and significance of the proposed topic. Presenters must also include each speaker’s full name (max of four) and email address, a session title, track, learning objectives, detailed agenda for the session, and preference for either a live or pre-recorded presentation.

In May, the APSS announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the SLEEP 2020 meeting, one of the largest sleep medicine events in North America, would go virtual for the first time. Originally planned to take place in June in Philadelphia, the event will now be held on August 27 – 30 online.

“We will provide the same, high quality content from leading clinicians and scientists in the fields of sleep medicine and sleep and circadian research, but now it will be more accessible than ever before. Wherever you are in the world, you will be able to attend SLEEP from the comfort of your home or office while enjoying unprecedented access to both live and on-demand content,” the APSS said in a statement.
