The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) has named Jim Magruder executive director of the BRPT. Magruder, who began his position full time on June 15, succeeds former executive director, John Ganoe, who resigned in May to take a position with the Community Associations Institute.

Magruder has extensive experience in association management in areas ranging from operational issues to financial matters and government affairs. In his previous role as vice president for the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA), Magruder worked closely with the organization’s membership to successfully implement the REAL ID Act, which established security and issuance standards for state driver’s licenses and identification cards.

“I’m thrilled to have Jim as the BRPT’s new executive director,” said Cindy Altman, RPSGT, R. EEG/EP T, president of the Board of Directors. “I’m confident his impressive range of experience and accomplishments, in particular, his expertise in the legislative and regulatory arena, will successfully drive BRPT initiatives as we continue to enhance and strengthen our credentialing programs.”
