Ever since Owaves, a lifestyle medicine software company based out of Encinitas, Calif, launched its wellness planner app in early May, over 100,000 healthy activities have been scheduled into people’s days in a progressive way.

Owaves’ 24-hour “sunrise clock” offers users a biological perspective of time called #oTime that significantly branches from existing methods. While traditional calendars and day-planning systems present a linear and narrow perspective centered around work and errands, Owaves takes its inspiration from our evolutionary body clock to provide a holistic perspective of the day.

The sunrise clock is complemented by an evidence-based menu of healthy activities supported by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, ranging from nutrition to spending time with loved ones.

“When’s the last time you scheduled sleep into your day-planner? Considering over 70 million Americans suffer from some type of sleep disorder, it’s about time we took a more holistic view of our day and how we spend our valuable time,” says physician and founder of Owaves, Royan Kamyar, MD, in a release.

To celebrate the app’s new release, Owaves will be launching a Share Your O Contest, encouraging its audience to share their solutions for finding balance. Drawing on the mindfulness and fitness communities who are adopting the app, prizes will be awarded for the most popular “O’s” as determined by the company’s large social media following.

“The Share Your O Contest is a great way for people to collaborate and share ideas in a common mission of being healthier and living fuller, more balanced lives,” says Dawn Fletcher, CrossFit trainer.
