The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) has named the Division of Sleep Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, as a Comprehensive Academic Program of Distinction.

The clinical aspects of the program are managed and coordinated by Sleep HealthCenters® at their Brighton, Mass, location. To receive this distinction, the program met rigorous standards in the areas of clinical service, educational mission, and research accomplishments.

“Working with nationally and internationally known sleep specialists at Brigham and Women’s Hospital has helped drive the mission and values of our organization. We look forward to continuing these efforts,” says Paul S. Valentine, president and chief executive officer of Sleep HealthCenters.

For receiving the distinction, the Brigham and Women’s program will be eligible for a 1-year grant from the American Sleep Medicine Foundation to support a fellow for training in sleep medicine research. The recognition stands for a period of 5 years.
