NovaSom Inc, the provider of the AccuSom home sleep test, has joined the American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) industry roundtable, a group of corporations that support the organization’s mission, programs, and activities.

The ASAA, founded in 1990, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes awareness of sleep apnea, works for continuing improvements in treatments for this serious disease, and advocates for the interests of sleep apnea patients and their families.

“We believe that home sleep testing is one more way to ensure those with sleep apnea receive the care they need, and we are thrilled to work with NovaSom on increasing sleep apnea awareness and improving patient outcomes,” says Edward Grandi, executive director of the ASAA, in a release.

As part of its endeavors to increase understanding of sleep apnea, the ASAA fulfills thousands of requests for information from the public each year and answers a multitude of questions concerning diagnosis and treatment options. Its programs include a nationwide patient support group network, online resource center and directory, and the CPAP assistance program, which provides therapy to those in need but lack the means to obtain it.

“Like the ASAA, NovaSom is dedicated to making sure that people with sleep apnea are connected with the care they need,” says John Spitznagel, NovaSom CEO. “We look forward to working with ASAA to support patients and further the industry’s understanding of sleep apnea.”
