Royal Philips is participating in the American Telemedicine Association’s Annual Telemedicine Meeting & Trade Show (ATA 2015) to be held May 2-5 in Los Angeles. At the event, Philips experts and customers will engage attendees through presentations and demonstrations emphasizing how connected care across the continuum improves outcomes, efficiency and patient satisfaction, while helping health care organizations thrive.

“As telehealth continues to gain traction in hospitals and health systems, it will perpetuate a more efficient, cost-effective, and collaborative way of treating patients both inside and outside the hospital,” says Derek Smith, senior vice president, Philips Hospital to Home, in a release. “Our focus at this year’s ATA conference is to highlight the success driven by enterprise telehealth and connected care, and what it means for the future of health care as a whole.”

During the conference, ATA will recognize two Philips Hospital to Home executives, Brian Rosenfeld, MD, vice president and chief medical officer, and Mike Breslow, MD, vice president of research and development, with the ATA President’s Award for Individual Leadership. In its booth (#1639), Philips will spotlight its full suite of telehealth programs, including critical, acute, and ambulatory care programs. As part of these demonstrations, Philips will feature solutions designed to improve patient care, including the FDA 510(k)-cleared eCareCoordinator and eCareCompanion applications for at-home patient monitoring, and SleepMapper for engagement with sleep apnea patients. Additionally, the booth will spotlight the recently introduced CareSage, a predictive analytics engine that helps identify patients at risk for emergency transport.

Philips will also discuss the results of a pilot intensive ambulatory care program at Banner Health, which was implemented to help reduce costs and improve care for the most complex and highest cost patients. Other Philips customers will also be in the booth to discuss their successful applications of these telehealth programs across the enterprise, including Avera Health in Sioux Falls, SD, and Aurora at Home in Milwaukee, Wis.
