Private nonprofit Professional Psych Seminar is offering a new online course entitled Helping Patients Sleep: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia.

The complete-at-your-own-pace course is presented by Jennifer Martin, PhD, a clinical sleep psychologist, who is president of the American Sleep Medicine Foundation.

This course introduces CBT-I and covers the basics of the approach and how to adapt it with all types of patients. Students will learn three ways that insomnia impacts other problems or symptoms in patients. The cognitive-behavioral model will also be explored. Martin also will discuss how to implement this therapy into one’s work or practice successfully.
