The Holland Sentinel reports on the Element mattress, the first consumer product from American Bedding Solutions.

Co-owners Bruce Brown and Rick Taylor took a quick timeout to lay on the two foam-based Element mattresses in their showroom at 11007 Chicago Drive in Zeeland Township during an interview with the Sentinel this week.

“We manufactured a bunch of mattresses to come up with what we have now that works for most people,” Taylor said. “You can’t fix it for everybody, but if you can do it for 75-80 percent of the country, it’s a good deal.”

Element, a subsidiary of American Bedding Solutions, was founded in January 2016. American Bedding Solutions was founded in 2012.

Since 2012, the Holland-based company has focused on wholesaling mattresses on a consignment basis to nonprofits across the U.S. that then sell them to consumers at thrift stores. The first nonprofits to take on mattress sales included Holland Rescue Mission and Mel Trotter Ministries in Grand Rapids.

Element mattress is a subsidiary of American Bedding Solutions. It’s the company’s first try at a direct to consumer product.
