A new bill proposed in North Dakota aims to protect infants by creating a training program for daycare providers on safe sleep practices.

It would also make this training part of the licensing requirements for any provider that cares for infants.

“There’s some safe sleep practices generally included in training, but the specific SIDS training is not an annual requirement for licensing for providers. So, Jennifer and I will work that out to see if we might need to make a change to this bill,” said Rep. Kylie Oversen, (D-Grand Forks).
