“I have sleep apnea, so I got the CPAP (machine). That thing’s got me right,” reports the Detroit Free Press.

Discovering he had sleep apnea isn’t the only reason for Johns’ recent development into one of Michigan’s top contributors. But it has played a role.

He isn’t sure when exactly the whole saga began, but told the Free Press he received a diagnosis around December, or “a couple months ago.”

It was the answer to a problem that followed him around for most of his life. As long as he can remember, he has had difficulty sleeping.
