A photographer whose rare brain disorder can cause him to fall asleep while working at loud rock gigs has won an international photography competition.

Mark Coxon had to give up his day job as restaurant manager at the Welsh Mountain Zoo due to his narcolepsy, which causes sufferers to suddenly fall asleep at inappropriate times.

To help him through this dark period, a friend lent him her camera, and he discovered a passion and talent for photography .
