A Healio news report indicates children with eczema and sleep disturbances showed an increased risk for headaches.
“The present study suggests that fatigue and sleep disturbances that occur in [patients] with eczema can increase the risk of or share a common pathomechanism with headaches,” Jonathan I. Silverberg, MD, PhD, MPH, an assistant professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, wrote.
Silverberg analyzed data from 19 population-based, cross-sectional studies from the 2003-2004 and 2007-2008 National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) as well as the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) from 1997-2013 to analyze the association between eczema and headaches.
