News 13’s WLOS met with AdventHealth Pulmonary Sleep Doctor, Steven Tomski to learn more about the disorder and how it’s treated.

She says, doctors ran several test, then telling her,”I really think you need to go and see if you have sleep apnea because that’s a big cause of strokes.”

Worried she might not live to take care of her grandchildren, she enlisted the help of Dr. Tomski, who enrolled her in a sleep study.

During the study patients sleep at the center overnight while doctors monitor everything from blood flow, breathing and chin movements.
