The state of Arizona has launched a safe sleep awareness campaign to educate parents, as reported by ABC15.

The State of Arizona launched a safe sleep awareness campaign on Tuesday.

Maricopa County said the campaign was started to educate parents on the ABC’s of Safe Sleep: Alone, on their Backs, in a Crib.

According to officials, 74 infants died in 2013 due to SUID (sudden unexpected infant death). The cause of the death in most of those tragedies occurred while the infant was sleeping in an unsafe sleeping environment.

In 2014, 47 infants died due to an unsafe sleep environment.
