Footprints in Memory of Maggie, an annual run in Illinois, raises money for safe sleep education and products for parents and caretakers, as reported by The Effingham Daily News.

It’s been almost four years since Angie and Ben Goebel’s infant daughter, Maggie, died of suffocation, but the crowd gathered at Sam Parr State Park Saturday still had the child on their mind.

“I love that the community comes out and supports us to keep her memory alive,” Angie Goebel said. “It definitely helps the family heal just to see all the support.”

The fourth annual memorial run, Footprints in Memory of Maggie, brought the crowd to the park Saturday. Money raised at the run supplies parents and caretakers with safe sleep products and education classes.
