Brighton Sleep HealthCenter Adds 6-Bed Sleep Lab

Sleep HealthCenters, a network of specialized sleep medicine centers, is the largest provider of such services in the state of Massachusetts. The network’s newest addition was just announced on January 16th.  The company’s Brighton Sleep HealthCenter, associated with Brigham & Women’s Hospital, has now added a six-bed sleep laboratory where overnight studies will be conducted.

Medical director John Winkelman, MD, PhD, who is an associate physician at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, heads the Brighton facility. Elise Maher, MS, RPSGT, manages the laboratory. The Brighton Sleep HealthCenter now offers more services than ever before. Physicians and patients will find a complete range of diagnostic and treatment services designed for individuals suspected of having obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome.

Patient care includes putting patients at ease. The new sleep laboratory has six hotel-like bedrooms where sleep studies are conducted. Patients enjoy a noise-free environment, a full-size bed, and a private bathroom with shower. The following morning, a continental breakfast is served.
