What do we know about medical marijuana use for treating insomnia in veterans? Leafly takes a look.
Beyond anecdotal evidence from medical marijuana advocates who are military veterans, scientific research suggests that medical cannabis may be a promising option for treating insomnia.
Though more research is needed, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the global pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis funded a study that showed consuming THC enabled subjects to fall asleep easier and more quickly.
Other research has been similarly suggestive that medical marijuana may help people have an easier time falling asleep and sleep longer and better, helping facilitate deep sleep, which in turn is thought to play a vital role in the natural bodily restoration process.

I have been smoking marijuana for 44 yrs.it helps me relax and I have a greater look upon life. I have operated heavy equipment under the influence of marijuana I’m a farmer and I always operate equipment when I’m under the influence of marijuana it has no effect on me whatsoever when I operate a vehicle or heavy equipment they should change the laws for anybody that been smoking marijuana as long as I have two except situations where they could operate under the influence just as well as when they’re sober. I am easier on the equipment that I operate cause I hate breakdowns. If you operate equipment like I do you don’t want no breakdowns and you’re less likely to have breakdowns if you operate it smoothly and respectively. No one should get an OWI because of operating under the influence of marijuana that is BS they need to change that law the worst drug I’ve ever done his alcohol thank God I don’t do that no more and also I have cancer I have Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and THC really helps me with my attitude and the way I eat I have a better outlook on life when I smoke marijuana sincerely jcm.
Rite on man I totally agree with you I’m a heavy equipment operator myself things do run smoothly when yet mellow godspeed with the cancer
