The Pediatric Sleep Council (PSC), a team of international pediatric sleep experts, has declared March 1 as “Baby Sleep Day.” Baby Sleep Day brings attention and recognition to the importance of baby sleep and helps families struggling with sleep issues.

“Families often seek answers and support regarding their children’s sleep—whether their questions are about typical sleep development or sleep problems,” says Erin Leichman, PhD, NCSP, research psychologist at Saint Joseph’s University and executive director of the PSC. “Raising awareness about healthy sleep using an international platform is an important step in giving families the answers, support, and information they seek—with an ultimate goal of preventing sleep problems before they arise.”

March 1, 2017 will be the first annual Baby Sleep Day. To inaugurate Baby Sleep Day, members of the Pediatric Sleep Council will answer sleep questions from families around the globe in real time on the Pediatric Sleep Council’s Facebook page at facebook.com/pedsleep. Kicking things off in Australia and followed by the United Kingdom, sleep experts will be answering questions throughout the day. In the United States, questions will be answered from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST and beyond by more than 15 sleep experts. Full schedule and updates will be available at facebook.com/pedsleep.
