According to Focus Taiwan, a survey shows oneĀ in every five people in Taiwan has insomnia and the older one gets, the more likely one is to have problems sleeping.

Society president Lin Chia-mo (???) said in presenting the survey’s results on Friday that 20.2 percent of survey respondents had sleep disorders, including having trouble falling asleep, suffering from poor quality sleep, or waking up too early.

The results also found that the prevalence of insomnia rose the older the respondent.

But less than a quarter (23.5 percent) of respondents with insomnia said they used pills to help them sleep, because six out of every 10 of them (64.5 percent) said they harbored a negative impression of such pills.
