The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) and the
National Sleep Foundation (NSF) today announced the debut of a much needed
consumer resource, the Patient’s Guide to Sleep Evaluations.

The aim of the four-page guide is to demystify the process of diagnosing
sleep problems by letting readers know what to expect during a sleep study,
and by offering suggestions on finding the right physician, sleep facility,
and sleep technologist to conduct the evaluation.

Both organizations anticipate that the new guide will be used directly by
consumers, as well as by sleep professionals as a patient education tool.
